Does Unavailability = Greater Desire?

Or, more simply put, does the old adage of “you want what you can’t have” hold true for porn and fantasy purposes?

Obviously, everyone is different, but I’m not really sure what tends to be more common. When I was still in grad school, I heard from several guys that they never understood the appeal of cheerleaders while they were in high school or college, but now that they were older, cheerleaders were inherently sexy. Now that they were never around them and had no real access to them, cheerleaders went from being seen as a stupid fantasy to being very desirable.

I’ve heard similar things with MILF and cougar fantasies. MILF fantasies were much more popular for guys when they were young, but not so much once they entered the same age brackets as the MILFS. And cougar fantasies didn’t pick up for women until they were old enough to be cougars on the prowl for early twenty-somethings.

And, would states that tend to be religious/socially conservative stop being towards the top of porn consumption if porn were seen as more acceptable instead of being vilified?

It all just made me wonder if the idea of wanting what you can’t have applied more broadly as well. For me, it tends not to be the case. As far as what I’m attracted to and like to fantasize about, it’s generally stayed consistent. And age-wise, when I was much younger, the idea of being attracted to a man in his mid-thirties or older was laughable. But my preferences have evolved along with me so that my own age group is the age group I prefer; the idea of being attracted to a twenty-year-old no longer fits.

How Do You Cuckold?

In cuckolding situations where a guy is watching his wife or girlfriend with another guy(s) – who do you prefer he submits to? Or do you even prefer that he’s submissive at all?

Not that porn is exactly a perfect model of reality, but porn always seems to portray cuckolding as though the guy is a weak, pathetic excuse of a man that can’t hang with the bulls. Invariably, he submits to the bull, who is portrayed in a position of being the most dominant one involved, even more than the woman. The woman is usually portrayed as being submissive herself, “giving herself” to a “real” man who can use her however he wants. She might join the bull in verbally abusing the cuckold, but the bull usually is the one who leads.

Everyone can swing their own way, but personally, I think the reality of cuckolding and hotwifing is usually much different. The power dynamic is more-often-than-not one where the woman is in control and calling the shots. The bull is there to do what the couple wants him to do and has the least control over the situation.

This is my own personal preference – both for real life MFMs and porn. I like it when the woman is in charge and is calling the shots over both of the guys or over one while the other just sits back and watches before taking his turn. In my experience, even when a guy gets off on being humiliated, they usually want to be humiliated by the woman – not the other guys.

After situations where the woman is the dominant one, I think it’s more common for the “cuck” to actually be in control. The woman is fucking the other guys at his direction and how he wants it. He’s orchestrating his own “humiliation” at her hands, but it’s really more of a slutwife kind of deal. Of course, there are situations where the extra guy is dominant, either over the woman and in conjunction with the significant other or over both of them. Situations where a couple brings in a guy to humiliate the significant other happen, too, but are just less common.

There are all sorts of variations and there’s no wrong answer as far as what’s preferred and there’s no wrong way to do it as long as everyone is on the same page. It just has always seemed to me that – more than with most genres – this is one area where porn has raced out to an extreme that flips the actual dynamics.

More Sheltered Than I Thought

Silly me, thinking that the complaint I saw about how “pornographic” the Super Bowl halftime show was was going to be more isolated than it was. The FCC now says that it has received over 1,300 complaints, primarily from parents who claim their children were exposed to a “porno show.”

I mean, I knew there would be complaints the day I heard who the performers were. But 1,300 people being so upset that they felt compelled to complain to the FCC seems excessive. If you think that show resembled anything like a porno show, you should check out a real porno show. Another complaint likened the halftime show to an “X-rated strip club performance.” Again, I invite anyone who agrees to set foot into a strip club so you can see how wrong you are.

The ones that really get to me, though, are the ones claiming the show encouraged sex trafficking. In my view, that goes beyond being sheltered and absurd and dives fully into being offensive towards anyone who has any level of experience with real sex trafficking. And trying to tie in the Me Too movement? At best, that’s mental gymnastics, but really, it’s saying that women embracing their own sexuality (even as mildly as what we saw in the halftime show) justifies sexual assault. Because many women have experienced sexual assault at some point in their lives, Jennifer Lopez and Shakira can’t show their abs and dance during their performances?

Maybe I just haven’t hit the “Karen” stage of my life yet. Or maybe I’m just a shitty mom. My kid and I just talked about how pretty the costumes were and how cool it was that they could dance like they do.

Super Bowl Pornography?

Sometimes, I just can’t.

Tons of news stations are reporting on this little tidbit of news of the weird where an Ohio man is threatening to sue the NFL, Pepsi, and whoever else he can think of for “pumping” what he feels constitutes pornography into the homes of football fans everywhere.

Why wouldn’t we expect an attention-seeking fanatical whatever-he-is to produce a publicity stunt where he gets bent out of shape over the halftime show? I mean, it seems that this is the type of world we live in now. Getting offended and threatening legal action is practically as American as the Superbowl.

Honestly, as soon as I saw the midriffs we were all expecting to see and J-Lo spinning on a pole, I knew the anti-porn folks would be up in arms and crying over the safety of our children. The sight of Shakira and Jennifer Lopez in concert is enough to make any “God-fearing” person “get sexually excited.” And we certainly wouldn’t want that. If there’s one danger to the world, it’s humans experiencing sexual excitement, particularly at the sight of popstars dancing while wearing more clothes than your average beachgoer.

Maybe we weren’t watching it as closely as we should have been, but my husband and I didn’t notice the “crotch shots” being complained of here. I kinda feel like I missed out now. We just thought it was a mildly entertaining and highly overrated halftime show, much like every year.

But, wow! If he thinks the halftime show constituted pornography, real porn would blow his mind.
